Confirmation is a sacrament whereby a person affirms for him/herself the vows made at Baptism. This sacrament is available to anyone age 14 and above who have never been confirmed and wish to be a member of the Episcopal Church.
If you have been confirmed in another denomination, the ceremony of Reception takes place which recognizes the validity of his or her previous Confirmation, and also serves as an official welcome into the Episcopal Church.
To learn more about the Episcopal Church and confirmation/reception ask the clergy about the preparation process and the series of Inquirers Classes.
